It has been an ugly scene for the San Francisco Giants and injuries lately. Starting designated hitter Jorge Soler, starting shortstop Nick Ahmed, starting center fielder Jung Hoo Lee, starting left fielder Michael Conforto, and fourth outfielder Austin Slater have all been added to the Injured List in recent days, where they join former Cy Young winners Blake Snell and Robbie Ray, plus reigning All-Star pitcher Alex Cobb.
But no situation has been more grim than at catcher, where the Giants started the year with their early-season MVP, Patrick Bailey, and a proven veteran backup in Tom Murphy.
